Sandwiches, gravel paths and robot lawn mowers

It started with a pub lunch – very nice sandwich at The Lime Kiln… then a meander down through lanes to Lytes Cary for a wander in the gardens. Very pleasant.
Then en route home, a pop in to Montacute House to wander in some more gardens and view a robot lawn mower ‘competition’. Surreal.

Analysis: sandwich prawns very tasty, Lytes Cary goldfish small, Montacute House goldfish HUGE.
Chairs in pub comfortable, didn’t sit down at Lytes Cary, bench in Montacute garden nicely placed for the sunshine.
Robots: pub nil, Lytes Cary nil, Montacute 1 in action + several ‘resting’.
Cup of tea back home – lovely.

My first trip out after being laid low with illness = very successful. Think I’ll have a snooze now… just as soon as I reach the bottom of this cup of tea!

About apthomas

I love books, reading, writing, baking, chocolate, painting, sewing, people and fairtrade - not necessarily in that order. I am a lazy gardener - who loves the garden, and a lazy housewife who likes the place to be warm and welcoming. I live in beautiful Somerset. I am enslaved by Sherpa-the-cat. Saturday mornings find me 'playing shop' in the Honey Pot - a second hand bookshop, run from my garage, where along with the books you'll find fun, friendship and refreshments - all in a good cause.

Yay! So glad to hear you are up and out. I’ve been praying for you and meant to check on you earlier this week. We’ll be praying that you continue to regain your strength and ease back in to normal activities.
