New Year?

Well, where has January gone?  Busily past whilst I wasn’t looking!

Sorry to keep you waiting for something new – have been busy with all sorts of things – from clearing our cupboards to clearing up ‘sheep’, from labouring over the laptop to slavering over the cake mix, and from water-colour painting splashy flowers to splashing over chilly waters (well, river Thames) at speed….. pics to follow maybe!

We are not yet a month into the new year and already I have had completely out-of-my-usual-rut experiences, learnt amazing new facts and been delighted by the kindness of both friends and strangers. It has been wonderful to be able to come alongside people who have been experiencing joy or pain, and to be a small part of their lives.

It has been a varied start to 2013 and with more snow forecast for tomorrow who knows what the next bit of excitement might be.  Perhaps in place of new year greetings of ‘happiness’ it would be more accurate to wish our friends ‘a surprising new year’ – it could be more accurate!Image

About apthomas

I love books, reading, writing, baking, chocolate, painting, sewing, people and fairtrade - not necessarily in that order. I am a lazy gardener - who loves the garden, and a lazy housewife who likes the place to be warm and welcoming. I live in beautiful Somerset - but have had to leave the countryside at a little distance, having moved into town.

Sounds fun – and I love the painting!

It’s lots of fun – but not much else is getting done this week! As for the painting, the artist running the course specialises in very wet watercolours – ‘watching paint dry’ becomes a whole new experience!
