A poem for Christmas
Anne got stuck in the mud,
yes, Anne got stuck in the mud!
The fingers are pointing,
And legs are disjointing –
Pushing the car from the mud.

The sportsmen are waving their fists
“Our field should not be dismissed
as a mud-larking dell”
They unitedly yell
At Anne – who has very red face.

Mary and Joseph must struggle
to find their way out of this muddle.
They have a firm date
and mustn’t be late
for the Tiddlers nativity fete.

Eventually everything’s fine:
Mary, Joseph and baby on time.
The car is now back
on a much firmer track
And what won’t wash out in the machine will remind us all of the trouble we went to in order to celebrate Christmas with the under 5s!Holly & ivy

About apthomas

I love books, reading, writing, baking, chocolate, painting, sewing, people and fairtrade - not necessarily in that order. I am a lazy gardener - who loves the garden, and a lazy housewife who likes the place to be warm and welcoming. I live in beautiful Somerset. I am enslaved by Sherpa-the-cat. Saturday mornings find me 'playing shop' in the Honey Pot - a second hand bookshop, run from my garage, where along with the books you'll find fun, friendship and refreshments - all in a good cause.
