Dining out in stile!

It’s not long since OV and I enjoyed a walk in the Quantocks, kicking the fallen leaves and dodging the rain. Our lunch stop provided every facility for comfort (well, somewhere dry to sit anyway) but this week’s storms will have whipped the last of the leaves from the trees. All around us floods are making travel unpredictable and complicated as roads are blocked by water and debris. How lovely to sit by a warm fireside with no need to travel far today! Even Sherpa has finally opted for indoors as the next storm approaches.

About apthomas

I love books, reading, writing, baking, chocolate, painting, sewing, people and fairtrade - not necessarily in that order. I am a lazy gardener - who loves the garden, and a lazy housewife who likes the place to be warm and welcoming. I live in beautiful Somerset. I am enslaved by Sherpa-the-cat. Saturday mornings find me 'playing shop' in the Honey Pot - a second hand bookshop, run from my garage, where along with the books you'll find fun, friendship and refreshments - all in a good cause.

I envy you your fireside! I was intending to go for a stroll today, only to find the field I wanted underwater. Exciting times! Brrr. Glad to have a dry home to retreat to.

As the howling wind grows hungrier we are definitely going nowhere!
