And there it was – gone!

Yesterday afternoon OV and I worked to clear the site of the old caravan (sadly rotten and beyond repair). Our work was monitored by Sherpa – in between tearing around the garden and chasing her tail. We lifted her into the house and closed all the doors before the final collapse of the caravan, as she had shown a complete lack of site safety – refusing to wear a hard hat!
We managed to save a few bits and pieces from the old caravan – I’ll tidy them up and make sure they find a place in the new one. Maybe the top doors (featured) could be turned into paintings to hang on the walls of the new caravan?
I also managed to slide around (on a small trolley) underneath the new ‘caravan pack’ and treat all the exposed wood against woodworm. You’ll be relieved that OV was too busy to photograph this inelegant activity!

About apthomas

I love books, reading, writing, baking, chocolate, painting, sewing, people and fairtrade - not necessarily in that order. I am a lazy gardener - who loves the garden, and a lazy housewife who likes the place to be warm and welcoming. I live in beautiful Somerset. I am enslaved by Sherpa-the-cat. Saturday mornings find me 'playing shop' in the Honey Pot - a second hand bookshop, run from my garage, where along with the books you'll find fun, friendship and refreshments - all in a good cause.

Oh, it looks like it is really going to be wonderful! What a great idea to incorporate the little doors from the old one into the new. Thanks for the progress reports – I’ll look forward to the next one.

Gosh! (Show everyone the lovely pic of Sherpa ‘supervising’!)
