Easter joy

Wishing you all a joyful Easter!
We are now the other side of a children’s event which focused on chickens and eggs – telling the Easter story through the eyes of the cockerel which crowed (when Peter had denied knowing Jesus, three times). The cockerel’s golden image appears on the steeple in the picture at the top of this blog. Fun and sticky fingers were enjoyed by all who came. Perhaps the most memorable moment (for the helpers at least) was when one of the visiting real life chickens escaped and tore off up the lane with several people in pursuit – no camera near I regret!
The event was followed by a service on the hill above the village. Afterwards the crowds descended for tea and hot cross buns in the rectory garden.
After that … zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
But we are all awake and enjoying the day today!
Hope you are too.

I live in beautiful Somerset - but have had to leave the countryside at a little distance, having moved into town.

The chase of the runaway chicken sounds like quite a highlight, indeed. 🙂 Glad to hear you had a good Easter weekend.
