Water baby

Sherpa fell into the pond!
Yes, Sherpa fell into the pond!
In the warmth of the sun
With a leap and a run
Sherpa fell into the pond!

Sherpa has suffered a fall!
Yes, Sherpa has suffered a fall!
Her pride is quite dashed
Where the pond water splashed
Sherpa has suffered a fall!

Sherpa has licked herself dry!
Yes, Sherpa has licked herself dry!
Curled up in the sun
‘Til ablutions were done
Sherpa has licked herself dry!

Sherpa has gone out to play!
Yes, Sherpa has gone out to play!
Our cat, far from stricken,
Still plays like a kitten
Sherpa has gone out to play!

Where she landed!

About apthomas

I love books, reading, writing, baking, chocolate, painting, sewing, people and fairtrade - not necessarily in that order. I am a lazy gardener - who loves the garden, and a lazy housewife who likes the place to be warm and welcoming. I live in beautiful Somerset. I am enslaved by Sherpa-the-cat. Saturday mornings find me 'playing shop' in the Honey Pot - a second hand bookshop, run from my garage, where along with the books you'll find fun, friendship and refreshments - all in a good cause.

Aww, lovely poem – and glad Sherpa recovered herself properly! A MANLY kitten…

‘Manly’? Hardly that! I wish I had witnessed the event – judging from the gap in the weed it was a spectacular leap after a flying insect followed by a rapid exit by way of the pebbles. She remained a bit ‘jumpy’ for the rest of the day! She appears relaxed and happy today and is waiting to go out to play!

Now that sounds like a sight to behold! 🙂 Lovely poem, btw.
