Beginning of Winter

So, Autumn is past and Winter has begun.  I have to say, my twelve week Autumn stretched out far longer than I thought it would, but now here we are in Winter and Christmas is only just round the corner! The cold wet weather has caused all our spirits to droop, but when cold and sun combined we were able to smile and feel quite merry. Let’s hope for more of the same.
The Honey Pot opens tomorrow with ginger wine to warm us – for all the brave souls who venture out to shiver in a cold garage.
Sorry there has been such a long time in between entries – blame it on a combination of busy-ness and a faulty network connection!
All for now – more details of how to start Advent with glue in your hair, next time

About apthomas

I love books, reading, writing, baking, chocolate, painting, sewing, people and fairtrade - not necessarily in that order. I am a lazy gardener - who loves the garden, and a lazy housewife who likes the place to be warm and welcoming. I live in beautiful Somerset. I am enslaved by Sherpa-the-cat. Saturday mornings find me 'playing shop' in the Honey Pot - a second hand bookshop, run from my garage, where along with the books you'll find fun, friendship and refreshments - all in a good cause.

b-b-b-b-b-brrrrrr, that is a cold blue color, isn’t it? We’ve been dry and sunny here but in the 30s (farenheit) – tomorrow’s prediction is for 39 degrees (not too cold) and snow. If it does more than cover the ground it’ll be our first of the year. Ginger wine sounds interesting – is it homemade?

After that last post went through I got a glimpse of the snow-laden evergreen trees (wallpaper background) – a beautiful sight.
