More Kenyan Hut!

What a wonderful day!  In between heavy showers the roof was completed.  There is just the netting to be fixed in place – started already.  Those of you waiting for the photos – well, some are already in the album.  The rest are still in the camera – please be patient!
I would like to reward the thatching force with a celebration in the hut – any suggestions as to menu, in the comments please!
All for now – I must away to carry on stitching the netting… Byee!

About apthomas

I love books, reading, writing, baking, chocolate, painting, sewing, people and fairtrade - not necessarily in that order. I am a lazy gardener - who loves the garden, and a lazy housewife who likes the place to be warm and welcoming. I live in beautiful Somerset. I am enslaved by Sherpa-the-cat. Saturday mornings find me 'playing shop' in the Honey Pot - a second hand bookshop, run from my garage, where along with the books you'll find fun, friendship and refreshments - all in a good cause.

To google:  Kenya food –  doesn’t bring up an awful lot of links – but, here is one:  http://www.africa.upenn.edu/Cookbook/Kenya.html – that lists some typical foodstuffs, including chapatis, yams, mango, corn, peas, beef & potato stew, etc.   I wonder if peanut soup could be served cold (thinking about eating out in the hut in the summertime)?    Looking forward to the report…
